The Ford W or Windsor is classic American muscle. Part of the 90 degree small block V-8 family of Ford engines, the Windsor reached its peak stock horsepower in at Though this small block is a platform capable of much greater performance, you can easily modify it to make more horsepower and torque. Because of its performance potential, it has been used in race cars, hot rods and muscle cars.
That means improving the flow in the heads. You can use a myriad of performance tricks to achieve higher head-flow. The first one is making sure air isn't being restricted as it enters the engine. One of the cheapest performance tricks you can do is simply to buy a high-flow air filter and keep it clean.
A cylinder head flows as well as its most constricted part. Part of the challenge is identifying the order in which to improve head-flow, so overall performance improves. Do the least expensive things first, such as air cleaners, unless they need to be done in unison. It won't help you to have high-flow into the motor if the exhaust is restricted.
Exhaust is a common place for flow restriction. Upgrading to high-flow exhaust headers can build significant horsepower, as long as they're matched to the flow of the rest of your engine. Once you've removed flow-restriction from either side of your heads exhaust and intakethe heads themselves need to be "flowed.
But, you can achieve plenty of additional head-flow and subsequent power by simply installing high performance cams.
It may be more economical to buy entire high performance heads, with cams, racing springs, rockers and valves. That way, a performance company has already matched individual components for maximum flow and performance. A handy trick for the Windsor is using parts from its cousins. The is a redesigned block. But the heads are interchangeable with most of the family of 90 degree small-block Fords because the bore is the same; the has an extended stroke.

Here's a little preview As always I suggest people to check out our facebook page to see what we are building. We are going to make some changes to the stage 4 single turbo kit and our T6 hot side kits. The stage 4 kit and T6 cold side kits will have the option to go through the drivers side sheet metal with the cold side piping rather than go down through the frame rail area.
I feel like that would be a upgrade to the product that the customers would like. Also we are going to work our down pipes around a particular radiator and fan combo that we will sell as a option in the near future.
We have made some tiny changes to our colds side piping material. We switched everything to 16g aluminum to help out with weight and to keep the pipes a little cooler. If for some reason you really want mild steel just ask. We can do it for you no problem at all.
We also switched our hot side from flex joints to slip joints. The reasoning behind that is there are so many heads out there that are just a tiny bit different that can affect how the crossover fits. With a slip joint it will solve that issue. But just as with the cold side piping change you can special request a flex joint. We have been adjusting around the prices some with changes in our pricing. Some things went up a little some things went down a little and some things stayed the same.
In the next month or two we are going to add a aluminum piping option for our cold side piping kits and turbo kits. I'm going to say it once more if you have not read it before. So if you want to see more pics of our products check it out!!!!!!!!!!!
